About this position…
We run float tanks, which also used to be known as sensory deprivation tanks (read more about it here).
It’s a fairly unique type of business, and because of the massive amount of salt water we deal with, there is always ongoing maintenance to do (not just with our float tanks, but with repairs to our walls and floors).
We’re looking for someone to do ongoing maintenance with us, between 5-12 hours a week on average. Our workload fluctuates week by week, so there will be occasional opportunities for longer hours as well.
Our shop runs 24 hours most days, and we only completely close for two lengths of time. One is Monday after 3pm , and the other is Thursday night after 11pm. This means that being willing to work days, as well as nights, is ideal. We’re open, though, to someone who would only be able to come in for a long Monday shift. Only doing nights could also work, coming in Monday night and Thursday night.
We are a small, and entirely bootstrapped business. We have an amazing and passionate team, and we’re legitimately helping change people’s lives for the better (especially people suffering from injuries or chronic pain).
Sadly, we can’t afford to pay as much as we would like, but there are other benefits. The largest is that you can float for free, as much as you like, including occasional free floats for friends and family.
If you’re interested in the position please email [email protected] with a resume or portfolio, references, and an essay of at least 150 words telling us about yourself and why you’d like to work with us.
Thanks, and float on!
